Community Involvement

20 junior sporting clubs in Logan will benefit from almost $20,000 in sporting equipment to be delivered to clubs across the city in the coming months.

The grants have been made possible through a partnership between the Brisbane Lions and the Logan City Council under the Logan Sports Development Program, which also provides up to $70,000 a year in travel assistance to Logan-based individuals and teams attending state, national and international competitions.

The partnership had provided $450,000 in travel assistance to almost 800 applicants since 2012 and sporting equipment grants were becoming a regular part of the program.

“We are now providing two grant rounds a year – to provide support for junior summer and winter sports as well as maintaining the travel assistance grants,” said Councillor Steve Swenson, Chair of the Sports and Community Services Committee.

“This is the second round of grants for equipment designed to support and encourage junior participation in a wide range of sports.

Greg Swann, CEO of the Brisbane Lions, said the Club was proud to be part of the Logan community.

“We see this program as a fantastic opportunity to help local sportspeople achieve their goals,” said Mr Swann.

“As a Club, we do thousands of hours of work in the community every year – it’s something at the heart of everything we do.”

Courtesy Bus

Coutesy Bus
LIONS@springwood goes the extra kilometre to welcome all of our guests and members. To make LIONS@springwood accessible and enjoyable to all we provide a Courtesy Bus.

The Courtesy Bus will pick up and drop off patrons who live in a 5 km radius around the Club. Simply call during hours of operation to let us know when you would like a lift! This gives members who cannot drive the ability to socialise and be a part of our community. It also prevents individuals from driving while drinking.

We also provide a free bus service for our members to and from LIONS@springwood to the Gabba during home games!

If you would like to see if we can pick up you and your friends via the Courtesy Bus, give us a call.

Cubs Club

LIONS@springwood wants our club to be a place of fun and joy for the kids! To cater to the needs of families, we host a Cubs Club every Monday and Wednesday during school holidays. It’s a place for kids to get their hands dirty, make plaster mould painting, have their face painted, or make a balloon figure!

We are a child friendly destination:

  • We have a wonderful and affordable kids menu
  • Kids eat for FREE all day & every Monday with adult meal purchase
  • Two fun areas just for kids. A playground in The Jungle Alfresco outdoor eating area and a children’s video arcade! Both areas allow kids to roam and play in free of charge

Our Cubs Club keeps kids entertained with activities, playground equipment and video games. Just ask our friendly Cage Bar staff to hire a game today and see reception for details on how you can join your kids up to the Cubs Club.

Why not kick your feet up, enjoy a drink, and watch your little cubs have a ball?
